Accidents happen. We are here to help you when they do. During regular office hours please call the office and our staff will triage your dental emergency and determine the urgency for your situation and schedule you accordingly.
In the event the office is closed, please call the office, and follow the prompts to leave a message for the emergency voicemail box. Our on-call Doctor should receive this message and will return your call as soon as possible.
Some conditions will require being seen in the office after hours. If it is determined that you require immediate dental attention, the on-call doctor will instruct on how to proceed with your individual situation.
Common Dental Emergencies
Knocked out Permanent tooth
Recover the tooth, making sure to hold it by the crown (top) and not the root. Rinse, but do not clean or handle the tooth more than necessary. Reinsert the tooth into the socket and hold it in place using a clean piece of gauze or cloth. If the tooth cannot be reinserted, carry it in a cup of milk or water. Time is essential to re-implant the tooth, call the office to be seen immediately.
Dental Infection
Call office to be evaluated; if severe swelling especially in the neck region or near the eye making it difficult to breath or see, please go to local emergency room.
Broken Tooth
Recover any broken fragments and keep site clean until you are able to be seen at the office for repair.
Broken Jaw
In the event of a jaw injury, tie the mouth closed with a towel, tie or handkerchief. Go immediately to the nearest emergency room.
